What design styles boost the
resale value of your home?
Obviously, the interior space needs to reflect the overall age and character of the home. So many times, a homeowner will try to "modernize" a space without any regard to the period of the home or its exterior. That being said, in today's market, the two interior design styles that seem to appeal most to buyers are "Transitional" and "Bohemian."
Transitional design blends both traditional and modern elements together, allowing a cohesive mix of characteristics from different periods. As the curved lines of the past and the straight lines of the present are combined, it creates spaces that are airy, polished and textured. The result is a clean, refreshing and uncluttered home, one that feels new regardless of its age.

Bohemian design (also known as Boho) is comfortable, casual and colorful.
It has a very eclectic feel, combining cultural, textural and organic elements together in a unique yet balanced fashion. This design style layers patterns and textures in a very welcoming and expressive way. To the incoming guest or buyer it says, "make yourself comfortable, stay for a while." Just the right statement for a potential home sale!
Both of these styles are a dramatic departure from the cold and sterile whites, greys and blacks that have dotted the design landscape for several decades. They add the color and warmth that seems to appeal to today's savvy homebuyer.
